I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Hotel Mediterranée in Taormina, Sicily, and I cannot stop raving about this extraordinary experience. From the moment I arrived, it felt like I had been transported back in time to a world of elegance, authenticity, and charm. The first thing that struck me about this hotel was its immaculate cleanliness and meticulous maintenance. Every corner of the hotel exuded a sense of pride in preserving its rich history and heritage. The attention to detail was awe-inspiring, and it was clear that the staff went to great lengths to ensure that the property remained in pristine condition. The location of Hotel Mediterranée is simply breathtaking. Perched on a hill overlooking the stunning vistas of Taormina, it felt like I was living in a postcard. The views from the hotel were mesmerizing, and I found myself spending countless hours on my balcony, soaking in the beauty of the Mediterranean Sea and the charming town below. The highlight of my stay had to be the gorgeous pool area. Surrounded by lush gardens and adorned with classic Italian architecture, it was the perfect place to unwind and soak up the sun. Whether I was enjoying a refreshing swim or sipping on a cocktail by the poolside, I couldn't help but feel like I was in a timeless oasis. One of the unique aspects of Hotel Mediterranée was its sister hotel, which added an extra layer of fun and excitement to my stay. Exploring Hotel Lido was also like stepping back in time, in all the best ways. The ambiance, the decor, and the warm hospitality of the staff made me feel like I was living a piece of history. In conclusion, my stay at Hotel Mediterranée was nothing short of magical. It was a journey through time, a glimpse into the authentic charm of Sicily, and an experience I will cherish forever. If you're looking for a place that combines old-world elegance with modern comfort, breathtaking views, and a touch of nostalgia, this hotel is an absolute gem.

The property is dated but we knew that and were willing to trade that for the views. We had room 53 which shared a huge outdoor patio with rooms 51 and 52, that had fabulous views of the Sea and Mt. Etna. A great thing about this hotel is it's sister hotel on the beach - which guests can use. There was a very nice and large pool at our hotel that has outstanding views and is surrounded by beautiful vegetation. We stayed for 5 days which was just about right. The staff could not have been more pleasant and helpful. Breakfasts were wonderful - with gorgeous views all around. the terraces. The breakfast staff were very nice and attentive. The room could use updating but was adequate and the mattress very comfortable. The bathroom was somewhat small and outdated. Once or twice a day, we walked down to the Corso Umberto which is full of good restaurants, shops and just a great place to stroll with a gelato. There's a bit of a hike back up the hill to the hotel. We are seniors and didn't mind it - a lot to see along the way. Or, you can always take a cab back up the hill. It is a beautiful and ancient city that we enjoyed very much. We were blown away by the Greek Theatre - be sure to go the cafe at the top for a nice snack or lunch and amazing views! Loved a night at the Italian Opera. Enjoyed our Godfather tour much more than we thought we would. It was easy to get to the train station and the trains were clean, inexpensive and on time. No extended trip to Sicily would be complete without spending time in Taormina!

What a grand old hotel. Position perfect. Without a doubt the best view in Taormina. Short walk to everything you want and need. We had a Junior Suite with balcony and ocean view. The room was a good size, bathroom a little cramped and getting on a little, room was also well insulated and quiet at night. Breakfast location and food was perfect. Onsite parking a bonus. Pool area old but very well maintained and a lovely area any time of day. Staff were exceptional. Lift in building much appreciated.

Exceptionally charming hotel with a 60s spirit, beautiful well taken care of gardens and flowers, amazing location and staff was so sweet, attentive and always around with great moods, jokes and smiles. My friend and I had a pretty long stay and we truly got to slow down and enjoy the place and the surroundings. The light lunches were great and the hotel pool just fantastic to relax at. The view so beautiful. We will for sure be returning and bringing more friends with us to enjoy this hotel :)

I love older hotels and this one is a goodie! The room was slightly dated but it was big with a small balcony perfect to look at the bay and of course Etna. The cocktail/breakfast deck is incredible… true old school with a magnificent staff member taking perfect care of everyone who visits. In fact, the whole team was really great… we were not allowed to touch our luggage while in this hotel! Felt like a movie star!
